Terms of use

How PhotoCull’s suggestions, deletion controls, local models and App Store purchases work.

Updated October 20, 2026

Review suggestions before deleting and keep an independent backup of photos you care about. AI suggestions and storage estimates can be wrong.

Application provider and license

PhotoCull is provided by 良则 牛 (Liangze Niu). Contact: [email protected]. These pages are hosted on the NoteDock website.

For copies obtained through the App Store, Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement (EULA) applies unless a custom EULA is supplied in the App Store. This page explains PhotoCull’s product and support terms; it does not replace the applicable EULA or mandatory consumer rights.

Local photo organization

PhotoCull analyzes photos available on your device, groups similar photos and generates AI reviews and keep/delete suggestions. You control what to keep and what to delete. It does not guarantee that an image is unimportant, that suggestions are correct, or that every photo can be read or analyzed.

PhotoCull targets macOS 26, iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 or later on Apple Intelligence-capable hardware. Some system AI features also depend on language, region, system settings and model readiness. Permission restrictions, cloud-only photos, available storage and device resources can affect operation.

Deletion, recovery and storage estimates

  • Review every selection and keep a separate backup before confirming deletion. PhotoCull does not provide a backup service.
  • For the Photos library, deletion and any system confirmation are handled through Apple’s photo-library APIs. iCloud Photos can synchronize deletion to your other devices. Recovery depends on the system’s Recently Deleted rules and availability; see Apple’s photo deletion and recovery guide.
  • Files deleted from selected Mac folders may be removed directly and may not appear in Trash or Recently Deleted. Do not rely on an undo or recovery period for those files.
  • Displayed sizes are estimates of readable image resources. They may exclude Live Photo video, edit history or other resources. Deletion does not guarantee an immediate or exact increase in free storage.

Downloads and AI limitations

Initial use or a model change can require a large model download. Size is shown before downloading; actual transfer size depends on the model. Network availability, storage, memory and device temperature can affect downloads and scanning. Once the required models are available locally, photo inference runs on the device.

AI reviews can be inaccurate, incomplete or inconsistent. Use your own judgment for meaningful photos. Third-party libraries and models remain subject to their respective licenses, available in Settings → Acknowledgements & Licenses. Your photos remain yours; these terms do not transfer ownership of your photos to the developer.

Purchases, subscriptions and trials

  • Prices, billing periods, included features and any trial offer are shown in the app and Apple’s purchase confirmation. Trial eligibility is determined by Apple; a trial is not available to every account.
  • Auto-renewable subscriptions renew unless cancelled through Apple before the renewal deadline. If a free trial is offered, it converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled in time. Follow Apple’s current cancellation guidance; deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
  • A lifetime purchase, where offered, is a one-time, non-consumable unlock of the features described at purchase, rather than an auto-renewing subscription.
  • Use Restore Purchases with the Apple Account used to buy the product. Availability across devices, platforms and Family Sharing is governed by the product configuration and Apple’s rules.
  • Refund requests are handled by Apple under Apple’s refund process. The developer does not take card payments or decide Apple refund requests.

Responsible use, support and changes

Only process photos and folders you have permission to use. Do not use the app unlawfully or infringe others’ rights. The app and third-party components remain protected by their applicable intellectual-property and license terms.

Support is provided through the PhotoCull support page or [email protected]. The privacy policy explains how local data and support correspondence are handled. Features and compatibility may change as the app and operating systems evolve. Changes to these terms will be dated on this page; mandatory rights and the applicable EULA remain in force.
