This Privacy Policy explains how NoteDock for NotebookLM ("NoteDock", "we", "us", or "our") handles your information when you use our macOS application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.
2. Information We Collect
NoteDock does not actively collect any personal information. We do not require you to create an account with us, and we do not ask for your name, email address, or any other personally identifiable information to use the application.
3. Local Data Storage
NoteDock stores a small amount of data locally on your device using macOS UserDefaults. This data includes:
- Your preferred keyboard shortcut settings
- Recently used notebook references
- Application preferences (e.g., window position, display settings)
This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to us or any third party. You can reset this data at any time by uninstalling the application.
4. Google NotebookLM Access
NoteDock provides access to Google NotebookLM through an embedded web view (WKWebView). When you log into Google NotebookLM through NoteDock:
- Your Google credentials are handled entirely by Google's authentication system
- Session cookies are stored locally on your device within the WKWebView container
- NoteDock does not have access to your Google password
- We do not intercept, read, or transmit your Google authentication tokens to any third party
5. Subscription Data
NoteDock offers optional in-app purchases through Apple's StoreKit framework. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple. NoteDock does not:
- Store your payment information
- Process transactions directly
- Have access to your credit card or billing details

6. Analytics & Tracking
NoteDock does not use any analytics, tracking, or telemetry tools. We do not track your usage patterns, collect crash reports automatically, or use any third-party analytics SDKs. Your usage of the app is entirely private.
7. Third-Party Services
NoteDock interacts with the following third-party services:
- Google NotebookLM — accessed via the embedded web view for core functionality. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
- Apple StoreKit — used for subscription management. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
No other third-party services, SDKs, or APIs are used by NoteDock.
8. Data Security
All data generated and used by NoteDock is stored locally on your device. We employ the following security measures:
- Data is stored within the application's sandboxed container
- Web view sessions are isolated using WKWebView's security model
- No data is transmitted to external servers owned or operated by NoteDock
9. Children's Privacy
NoteDock is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has used the application in a way that raises privacy concerns, please contact us.
